Multisport in Uruguay

One trip, every team

Multi sport school tours are what we do most. One school arrived with rugby, basketball, hockey and handball. Another brought rugby, hockey and volleyball, 76 people in all. We plan it so the whole school moves together. Where we can, every team plays the same host school on the same day, so the match day belongs to everyone, and it finishes with presentations and time with the hosts. Boys and girls are accommodated separately and travel on their own coaches. Coaches coach, teachers stay in charge of their students, and Geoff and Cole run the tour on the ground.

Uruguay is a ferry crossing from Buenos Aires over the Río de la Plata, which makes it a natural second country on an Argentine tour. We build Montevideo in as a two or three day leg: a game against local opposition, the old town and the port market, and a walk along the Rambla before the ferry back. It suits teams that want more than one stamp in the passport without adding long travel days.

Multisport in Uruguay is one of our school multisport tours. The same tour runs for clubs and rep teams, and the multisport page lists every country we take it to.

Multi Sport School Tours in Argentina and Uruguay

14 days

Two countries, several teams, one touring party. Geoff wrote this route for schools that travel with more than one code: Buenos Aires, a ferry to Montevideo and the coast at Mar del Plata. Each team plays in every stop, on the same days where we can, and the whole party shares the estancia day, the old town and the farewell dinner. It is planned with the partners in Buenos Aires who bring Argentine schools to New Zealand. When to go: rugby, hockey and football are all in season from about March to November in both countries, so any New Zealand term break can work.

Before you ask

Questions, answered

How much does a tour cost?

Every tour is quoted individually because every tour is built around your team — sport, level, dates and budget. Tell us what a great trip looks like and we will come back with an honest price and a first draft itinerary.

Can we customise our itinerary?

Yes — no two tours are the same. Every Brock Sports tour starts with your team, your sport and your goals, and we build it with you, fixture by fixture.

What is included in the price?

Every quote sets it out plainly. A typical tour covers games, training, accommodation, transport, breakfasts and dinners, and the cultural and sightseeing programme. Lunches and personal travel insurance are usually separate, and we will spell out anything else that is.

Which meals are included?

Breakfasts and dinners are included as standard. Lunches are usually at your own cost, so players can choose for themselves.

What happens if the weather turns?

We adjust the day and offer a suitable alternative wherever we can. It is New Zealand, so we plan with the weather in mind.

Do you run multi sport school tours?

Yes, it is the tour we run most. Recent school groups have travelled with rugby, hockey and volleyball teams together, and with rugby, basketball, hockey and handball. Boys and girls teams tour as one party and play on the same days where we can.
