Hockey in Chile

Good turf, good games

School hockey tours built around well matched games on good turf. Hockey has been part of nearly every school group we have hosted, and girls teams from Buenos Aires have played their way through the North Island with us, against school first elevens and regional under 16 sides. We find opposition at your level, book turf time for training and make sure the day finishes with the two teams together. One touring group played four games in a fortnight, each against a different region. If your school travels with more than one code, hockey slots in easily: same route, games on the same days.

Chile sits just across the Andes from Argentina, and that is how we approach it: as one leg of a South American tour. A team gets two countries, two styles of opposition and one continuous trip. What sports do they play in Chile? Football comes first, and tennis has given the country a world number one and Olympic gold medals. Rugby is growing fast since the national side played at its first World Cup in 2023, hockey is a mainstay of Santiago's schools, and basketball has its heartland in the south. Santiago is the base, with the mountains on one side and the Pacific on the other. Rugby and hockey are where our plans for Chile are furthest along. If you want Chile on its own, or for another sport, ask us and we will tell you what we can honestly put together.

Hockey Tours in Chile and Argentina

10 to 21 days

School hockey tours to Chile. Hockey is one of the main girls' sports in Santiago's schools and clubs, and the national women's side, Las Diablas, has put Chile on the world stage. We pair Chile with Argentina, one of the great hockey countries, so a touring side gets two styles of opposition on one trip. Geoff has a hockey route for both on file, ready to shape around your team. When to go: school and club hockey in Santiago is played through the school year, from March to December.

Before you ask

Questions, answered

How much does a tour cost?

Every tour is quoted individually because every tour is built around your team — sport, level, dates and budget. Tell us what a great trip looks like and we will come back with an honest price and a first draft itinerary.

Can we customise our itinerary?

Yes — no two tours are the same. Every Brock Sports tour starts with your team, your sport and your goals, and we build it with you, fixture by fixture.

What is included in the price?

Every quote sets it out plainly. A typical tour covers games, training, accommodation, transport, breakfasts and dinners, and the cultural and sightseeing programme. Lunches and personal travel insurance are usually separate, and we will spell out anything else that is.

Which meals are included?

Breakfasts and dinners are included as standard. Lunches are usually at your own cost, so players can choose for themselves.

What happens if the weather turns?

We adjust the day and offer a suitable alternative wherever we can. It is New Zealand, so we plan with the weather in mind.

Do you run multi sport school tours?

Yes, it is the tour we run most. Recent school groups have travelled with rugby, hockey and volleyball teams together, and with rugby, basketball, hockey and handball. Boys and girls teams tour as one party and play on the same days where we can.
